BACKSTORY (July 17, 1955–September 1966): This exhibit, sponsored by Monsanto, featured The Chemitron, which were huge test tubes of the eight basic materials found in nature which helped to produce the 500 different Monasanto chemicals and plastics. In March 1965, Kaiser Aluminum's empty spot was filled with an exhibit called "Fashions and Fabrics Through the Ages," which was an expansion of The Hall of Chemistry.Tthe exhibit also featured historic fashion, including a gown worn by President Lincoln's wife, Mary.
When The Hall of Chemistry was removed for the "New Tomorrowland" expansion of 1967, Monsanto's next sponsored attractiont was the cult classic Adventures Thru Inner Space. In place of "Hall of Chemistry" today is the Star Tours attraction.
