BACKSTORY: I didn't discover this gem until my fourth visit to New Orleans. Consisting of 1300 acres, this beautiful park includes the New Orleans Museum of Art as well as the kitschy Storyland, which has been around since the 1950's. Although it might lack the high-tech pizzazz of Disneyland, the kids I saw playing here sure seemed to be enjoying it! The work of WPA artist Enrique Alferez can be seen throughout the park as well.
