BACKSTORY: Born Eugene Curran Kelly on August 23, 1912, in East Liberty, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Gene Kelly changed the face of dance by making it accessible to all. He pushed the boundaries of innovation while breaking the stereotypical barriers. Dancer, actor, singer, choreographer, and director, he is second to none. Some of my favorite Gene Kelly films include “An American in Paris”, “Singin' in the Rain,” and “Summer Stock.”
