Orleans SQUARE

BACKSTORY: Orleans Square and Jackson Ward were laid out in 1815 and was named to commemorate the battle of New Orleans and its hero, General Andrew Jackson, who ultimately became a U.S. President. The Harper Fowlkes House, located at 230 Barnard Street and designed by Charles Cluskey, is owned by the Society of the Cincinnati, given by Alida Harper Fowlkes. It was named one of the Best 25 Historic Homes In America by Traditional Home magazine October 2014
